CygNet Software’s mission was to become well known in the gas and oil industry — a market that can be tough to crack for outsiders. And while the company’s clients were achieving some truly groundbreaking results using its software to better access, exchange and capitalize on reams of operational data, legal and corporate guidelines at customer sites made it hard for us to share these successes with the press.
Not to worry! Kickstart worked closely with CygNet to make a complex technology story more relatable, and then created an ongoing drumbeat of published announcements and executive thought leadership bylines. We also developed a CEO visibility campaign to put the company’s big vision for oil and gas technology front and center. Soon CygNet won its place in the limelight, despite being somewhat smaller than some folks imagined. One industry executive commented, “We thought the company was bigger!” On the heels of this coverage and a tremendously executed customer conference, Weatherford International Ltd., one of the largest oilfield services companies, acquired CygNet.
