Golega

A wonderful super chatty host in Santarem meant we left later that we should have, so we arrived in Golega at 7 pm, another 20 minutes to find our room. Exhausted by the 19.5 walk. (Only 18.4 tomorrow ).

Day started down a beautiful wooded steep path that started at St. James Gate and followed the ancient city wall. 

Spent most of the day going thru grape vines, and fields of tomatoes, peppers, or corn.

Very flat, but very long! And hot. Took 3 or 4 lengthy cool off stops.
